Payors

If your law firm works with insurers, or otherwise has matters where the organization that is billed is not the client, then these payors may be listed here. This will be dependent on your finance system and integration with Antidote. Payors will normally be created automatically if supported.

Adding Payors

If you add payors manually but Antidote does not link payors to matters using data from your finance system then payors will have no effect. If you are unsure check with your administrator or email [email protected]

Antidote will check each matter that it reads from the finance system to determine if the payor is different from the client. If the payor is different, then Antidote will use the ruleset associated with the payor instead of the client ruleset.

tip

Antidote treats clients and payors similarly, so if you are familiar with clients much of the following will be known to you already.

Payor list

The payor table displays the following columns from left to right:

  • Payor ID - from your finance system
  • Payor Name - the name of the payor
  • Rulesets - any rulesets configured for the payor
  • Total Billed - the total billed in Antidote
  • Flagged - the amount that is flagged
  • Last Prebill/Invoice - the last prebill or invoice date in Antidote

You can search for a payor by name or ID and sort the table by clicking on the column headings.

tip

There can be a client and a payor of the same name if they are both a client and a payor. The ruleset configuration for the client and the payor can be different, as they may have different rules when they are the direct client.

Payor detail page

Click on the payor to view the payor details. This will show totals for the payor. From the payor detail page you can click Manage Rulesets to manage the payor rulesets. For more information, see Rulesets.

Depending on your configuration, you may also be able to edit payor details from the payor page.

Access to payors, clients and matters

If you are given access to a payor you will be able to see the payor page but this will not list the matters or invoices associated with the payor.

You will need to find matters or invoices using the lists or via the client. This is because matter access is associated only with access to clients, not payors.

Access varies

Matter and invoice access is determined by what clients you have access to. Access to a payor will not give you access to the matters or invoices paid for by the payor. You will need access to the clients with the matters linked to the payor.
